TOSAQ is excited to be working collaboratively with Kelvin Grove State College and its Parents and Citizens Association on a joint application to the Queensland Gambling
Community Benefit Fund to support the replacement of the grand piano in the College Hall.
Our application seeks $35,000 in grant funding towards the purchase of a new concert grand piano. If successful, the preferred instrument is a Kawai GX-7 Concert Grand Piano, professionally installed on a stage truck to allow the instrument to be safely positioned for performances and stored when required.
With a retail value of more than $90,000, access to education pricing makes this significant investment achievable. However, even with a successful grant application, both Kelvin Grove State College and TOSAQ will need to contribute towards the remaining cost. TOSAQ’s contribution is anticipated to be approximately $6,000.

We are inviting members and friends of TOSAQ to pledge a donation specifically towards this exciting project. A new concert grand piano would significantly enhance the musical quality and versatility of our TOSAQ events while also providing an outstanding instrument for College students and the wider musical community using the Hall.
We’re delighted to share that the campaign has already received its first pledged donations, totalling $550 as of 30 August 2026. This is a wonderful start towards our $6,000 goal and shows the strength of support for bringing a new concert grand piano to Kelvin Grove. Every pledge, large or small, brings us closer to making this exciting investment in live music possible. Remember, donations will only be requested if the grant application is successful, so at this stage we are simply asking members and supporters to indicate the amount they would be willing to contribute.
No donation is required at this stage. Pledges will only be called upon if our grant application is successful. Outcomes for Round 127 are expected in early 2027.
