You’ll have the time of your life when this iconic 80’s film comes to life on big screen in Kelvin Grove. Get your friends and family together for a fun night out and relive the movie and music magic of the 1980’s.
Set in the summer of 1963, Baby Houseman (Jennifer Grey) and her family vacation at the beautiful Catskills resort, Kellermans. Intrigued by the staff’s dance instructor, Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), and the vastly different lifestyle of others, Baby finds herself learning to dance while having the time of her life and falling in love.
It’s a summer she’ll never forget…and a film we’ll remember forever.
Prior to the movie screening, immerse yourself in the timeless romance of Baby and Johnny as a group of very talented musicians perform hits songs of the 1980’s. Experience one of the most memorable movies of the past 30+ years and hear the TOSAQ Christie Cinema Organ like never before.
There will be some super ’80s corkers to sing along with including Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer, Soft Cell’s Tainted Love and Val Halem’s Jump! Why not come dressed in your best 80’s getup.
All proceeds from this fundraising event will go towards the ongoing maintenance and restoration of our TOSAQ Christie Cinema Pipe Organ.
TOSAQ has a long history of major film & music events and Dirty Dancing (M) will be no different when it hits the big screen in June.

Arrive at the Kelvin Grove State College Auditorium, where the atmosphere is thick with excitement from the neon colors of the 80’s! Make your way to your seat, ordering a Fire ‘N’ Dough Wood Fired Pizza and a drink from the bar on your way in. Dinner can be ordered in the foyer from 6.30pm.
